Program Summary:
Speaker and activist Daryl Davis will be joined by Jeff Schoep and Scott Shepherd to discuss how peaceful conversations turned into friendship. Schoep was the leader of the largest neo-Nazi organization in the U.S. and has since founded Beyond Barriers, a nonprofit organization dedicated to countering and preventing extremism. Shepherd is a former member of many white nationalist and supremacist organizations. After meeting and getting to know Daryl, a black jazz musician who’s dedicated his life to having respectful dialogue with those of opposing views, both have renounced their ideologies. Hear them tell this powerful story firsthand, pose questions, and be inspired to engage in your own conversations for change.
