Kristallnacht or ‘the night of broken glass’ was a turning point in the Holocaust. It was the first time that violence against Jews was coordinated on such a large scale in Nazi Germany.
Morris Gruenberg was born and raised in Berlin, Germany to a Jewish family. He recalls the events of Kristallnacht and also describes what caused the watershed event.
Margo Haberman was born and raised in Nuremberg, Germany. She recalls the night of November 9, 1938, when Nazi storm troopers broke into her family’s home and destroyed their property.
