Exposing Children to Violence
Since February 2003, Sudanese soldiers and government-backed armed militia have waged a campaign of “ethnic cleansing.” Shortly after the conflict began, two Human Rights Watch researchers gave children paper and crayons; they began to draw vivid and disturbing scenes of the violence and atrocities they had witnessed. This exhibit speaks forcefully to the price innocent children pay in times of war.
