Escape Denied: The Frank Family’s Struggle for Freedom (Exhibit Opening Reception)
This poignant exhibit sheds light on the lesser-known chapter of Anne Frank’s family history—their desperate and unsuccessful attempts to emigrate and escape Nazi-occupied Europe. Through personal letters, official documents, and family photographs, Escape Denied explores the heartbreak and obstacles they faced as they sought refuge in the United States and Cuba, while reflecting on the global impact of immigration policies during one of history’s darkest periods.
